& my story begins

Last Friday was the bbq everyone had been waiting for (I think). Met up with many people and was amazed to find that a substantial number of them were posted to NYJC. They came in groups, mostly wearing their school T-Shirt as there was a camp beforehand.

Afternoon I went to Marina Square to style my hair at Heatwave salon, to hear that my regular stylist is gone!! According to the 'meekish' receptionist Mandy had returned back to Ipoh. Hai.. But anyway, I got another senior stylist to do the job for me. Then I ended up watching 'Music and Lyrics' , a show that depicts the story of two persons who wrote songs and fell in love with each other. The show was halfway through when the screen just blanked out! Everyone started to whisper (loudly) , some demanding a refund. After about a few minutes of waiting , the show continued where it was left off.

Tuesday was another exciting day. It was supposed to be the last lesson of my elementary class for hairdressing. Arriving there, I told the teacher of my lack of a model. He was like ' ok, I help you find' . So while I was waiting with another auntie who's a classmate of mine, only one auntie was cutting. Along came another classmate, who was shocked to see that the class seemed so empty . She expected to see many people filling the corridor and had wanted to come and revise. Lo and behold, she ended up being my model. (thanks ><) .. Did some high layering , jagged and thinning for her. Just trimmed a bit, that's all. Grateful to her for her belief in my skills, haha.

That's about all. Erm, until next time . Bye !!

& my story begins

Today was a day of surprises and 'strange occurrences', according to Norman.

We met up around 12 plus in the afternoon to have our haircut at Marina (supposedly). So we took the train down to City Hall station, and made our way to Marina Square. There is supposed to be this Kimage salon that charges $5 for a haircut, and I'm pretty sure quite cheap for highlight too. The directory stated that there's only one Kimage Prestige on the first floor. Hence we checked it out, and was shocked to find that it was so expensive! A haircut costs $37.50 after a discount. Determined, we walked around checking out the salons there. Here's a list- Heatwave, Zoom, Chapter2 , and another one which I forgot.Yep, so it turns out that we were unsuccessful in locating the 'legendary' salon.

So Norman went to ask his friend about the location, to find that it's at Peninsular Plaza. We had to reatract our way and finally arrived there, to discover a building that can't really be described as new. The layout was the same at each level, probably to facilitate searching for a shop. Many shops were not open , and we ended up finding a few salons with strange names. Here are a few (names modified but the pronunciation is the same)- Kid Kid, Pen-nie's Kurls. There was this strange girl in one who was rebonding her own hair. Laughing, we imagined how another person would look doing that and giggling to herself.

This is also what Norman giggled at , to my utter horror (I swear) :

It's a shop that sells stuff to serve people who want quick getaways at the Grand Park Hotel, we thought. There was also this strange guy who saw wearing this blue blouse and spotting a gold bag. Overall appearance? Like a gay .. Hahaa.. We felt like filming 'Gao Xiao Xing Dong'.

Anyway, we decided to head for Far East, where there are many salons. In the end, we managed to find a suitable one. There was this weird guy working there who was wearing earrings and wearing woman slippers. Plus he's very skinny and youknow he's doomed to be a gay. How tragic.

Yep, tiring day , but fun. But I don'y think I'll be going back any time soon. Support Heatwave!!

PS.(Norman really liked the shop.. hahaa)..

& my story begins

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Yes, if you saw the post on the tagboard, it's Huimin's birthday! (Sorry, I was out yesterday) So anyway, hope we can meet soon and I can pass you your present. ( um-chio right? haha)

So yesterday there was the IT fair at Suntec City, which is held till this Sunday. There were many booths there, selling a large variety of electronic goods. The sad thing is that people seem ready to buy the stuff they are after. Take for instance Norman, he's gonna persuade his parents to pay a certain amount of money for his MP3. Most likely he's getting it today. Met Dylis and Lisa yesterday in school, and they were saying ' oh ya, if we see anything we fancy can just buy' (What kind of treatment is that?!) While they are happily losing their way in the cavernous hall at Suntec, I'm amusing myself here blogging.. zz.. And I don't even get to go and see if there's anything fancy there. So much for equality.

Saturday turns out to be boring too.. The worst thing is that I'm going to be saddled with another cousin for a few more days. 'Cos my aunt and grandma went China last night, and I'm supposed to take care of my younger cousin for a few days next week. (That's just gonna ruin my plans la.. ) RAH!! Can it get any worse ?? You bet.

Before leaving, my grandma suddenly launched the topic of 'why don'y you want to go JC?' which was answered by my Mum. Together, they seemed to get so heated up in the topic, as if they were releasing years of pent up energy. Is poly really that bad?? I don't even feel like talking about it now .. Grr.. Can't wait to work in a salon as a hairdresser..

Ya.. So basically this week's just a lousy week for me. Can't wait for school to start to get away from all this wanting-to-manipulate-your-life thing. Just gonna chill out for now. Get lost.

& my story begins

Actually it's just another name for my very long holidays (haha) as poly starts only in April. That leaves me with another month of holidays.

Yesterday went with my aunt, ah ma, Mum and my cousins to a vegetarian restaurant for lunch. Arrived at around 2 plus,as we had to wait for one of my cousin's dismissal from school. The meal was great, and we almost had the place to ourselves, with only 2 tables occupied. They were supposed to close the eatery at 3 to allow the staff to rest before opening it in the evening.

Guess the exciting thing was my class on Tuesday. The teacher taught us to set the hair, making it look better than without any styling. So we set about rolling the hair in many of those 'setting rocks', round pieces of plastics, before we used the hairdryer. Then the teacher also used the comb to create a myriad of hair style, some popular in the '60s. Yap, and there's supposed to be a test on the eighth lesson, to test us on the stuff we've learnt in the past few weeks.

Nothing much actually, just everyone seems so busy and no one is religiously updating their blog.Ok, that's all for now.
